Do you work with charities? Which ones?

Yes, absolutely. We proudly donate to a range of community organisations including Berry Street and Our Village, helping toys find their way to children who need a little extra comfort. Check out 'Our Charity Partners' page to learn more.

How do you clean or prepare the toys before rehoming?

Each toy is thoroughly checked, cleaned, and given a gentle refresh before being re homed. We make sure they’re safe, soft, and ready for their next cuddle.

Can I choose who receives my donated toy?

We can’t match toys with specific children, but we promise your donation will bring joy, whether through adoption on our site or through one of our charity partners.

Is my donation tax deductible?

At the moment, toy donations themselves are not tax deductible. However, 10% of all purchases made through Bear and Boon is donated to Berry Street, which is a registered
charity.

Can schools, kindergartens, or workplaces organise a group donation?

Yes! We’d love that. Group collections are a wonderful way to give back. Just reach out to us and we’ll guide you through the process.

Do you accept other items (books, clothes, baby goods)?

We focus solely on soft toys. This way, we can give each one the attention it deserves and ensure it finds the right home.

How does my donation support Berry Street and other charity partners?

For every soft toy purchased on our website, 10% is donated to Berry Street, helping children and families doing it tough. Toys that don’t go online are re-homed through partners like Our Village, so your gift always reaches someone in need.

Donation FAQ's

When will my friends appear online?

Some softies find their spot on the website quite quickly, but because we welcome so many at once, it can sometimes be a little while before they pop up for the world to see. Every now and then, a lucky few are adopted at special events and never make it to their online debut. If you have any questions about your donated friends and their journey, we’re always happy for you to reach out.

Will you let me know when my friends arrive?

If you’d like us to send word when your softies reach Bear and Boon HQ, simply pop your contact details inside the package. We may not be able to write back straight away, but we’ll be sure to send you a little hello as soon as we can.

Will all donated toys be listed online?

Because we receive so many cuddly friends, we can’t list every single one on our website. Rest assured, any softies that don’t appear online are still finding loving homes through our trusted partner charities, like Our Village.

How can I donate soft toys?

We love welcoming your soft toys on their next adventure. To donate, simply package them up safely and send them to Bear and Boon HQ. If you’re local, you’re also welcome to drop them directly to us. Once they arrive, our team will carefully sort, clean, and prepare them for their new homes, whether that’s being listed on our website for adoption or re-homed through one of our charity partners. What types of toys do you accept?

We accept soft toys, teddies, and plush friends of all shapes and sizes, as long
as they’re in reasonable condition, and safe to be re-loved. We’re sadly unable to welcome plastic playmates, friends with mechanical or electronic hearts, or squishy mallows.

Do the toys need to be brand new?

Not at all. Pre-loved toys are at the heart of what we do. As long as they’re gently loved,
and free from major wear or damage, we’d love to welcome them.

What does CE/ RCM mean on soft toys?

CE marking stands for Conformité Européenne (European Conformity). The marking indicates that a product has been
assessed by the manufacturer and deemed safe to meet EU safety requirements. For toys, a CE marking is a declaration of compliance with the essential safety requirements. The Australian equivalent of the CE mark is the RCM, which involves a similar process to ensure compliance. Honest and transparent product labelling is not only a legal requirement under the ACL but also essential for building consumer trust.

Where do my donated toys go?

Some toys are photographed and listed for adoption on our website, finding a new family who will treasure them. Others are donated directly to our charity partners, supporting children and families in need.

Can I purchase a toy from your site and also donate?

Yes! You can adopt a new friend and send us your pre-loved ones too. That way, you’re doubling the kindness.

I’m not in Australia, can I still donate?

At the moment we’re only able to accept donations from within Australia. But you can still support us by adopting a toy or spreading the word.
